In a new study, CRSMRE faculty affiliate, Calvin Nite, worked with colleague Jonathon Edwards to expand on the understanding of institutional theory. Their paper helps scholars to understand how institutions in sport are created, maintained, and disrupted. They reviewed previous research in the area, identified opportunities for new research, and also suggested innovative methodological approaches. The conclude that sport management researchers should develop better institutional theory in their work.
