QUALITY

For 15 years, the SLQ group has been dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals involved in sports, both professionally and recreationally.

Recognizing that the impact of sport on social outcomes—such as health, well-being, community engagement, and economic development—depends largely on how sports programs are structured and delivered, the work of SLQ affiliates focuses on understanding how sport can be designed, managed, and marketed to better serve individuals, families, and communities.

Our research spans a range of sport and sport-for-development (S4D) contexts, examining the micro (individual participant and employee), meso (organizational), and macro (systemic delivery) levels of sport. This work explores the connections between how sports programs and systems are developed and implemented and the outcomes they produce.

We typically focus on three primary themes:

  • Work-Life Balance

  • Individual Development Through Sport

  • The Advancement of Sports for Girls and Women
