Professional Football Clubs and the Adoption of Green Initiatives

In a new study, CSMRE faculty affiliate Brian McCullough joined with colleagues to examine factors that might influence professional football clubs to adopt green initiatives. They focused specifically on stakeholders’ pressure and also distinguished between operational and governance practices. Results showed that market pressures and societal stakeholders were both important influencers. Football institutions helped spur governance-related changes. Finally, green practices were associated with many benefits, including business performance.
