Center for Sport Management Research and Education
Generating and Diffusing Actionable Knowledge to Sport Industry Scholars and Organizations
Mission
The Center for Sport Management Research and Education will be a catalyst in bringing together an interdisciplinary team of researchers in the study of sport management and generating and disseminating timely and appropriate knowledge concerning the practice and application of sport management.
At the Center for Sport Management, we accomplish our mission through three key pillars: Global Youth Sport for Development (GYS4D), Collaborative for Sport Data Science (CSDS), and Sport Life Quality (SLQ). Each pillar plays a vital role in advancing our commitment to impactful sport management education and research.
GYS4D enhances holistic youth development by using sport as a tool for positive social change. By integrating sport science, developmental theory, and sport management expertise, GYS4D strengthens global outreach programs, contributing to our goal of fostering sustainable sport initiatives worldwide.
CSDS brings together leading scholars in economics, finance, data science, and sport management to harness the power of sport data. This pillar fuels research that generates data-driven insights, enhancing our understanding of the sport industry and equipping students and faculty with the tools to shape the future of sport management.
Sport Life Quality (SLQ) focuses on improving the well-being of individuals and communities through sport. By studying the design and delivery of sport programs, SLQ promotes better life outcomes, including work-life balance and inclusive sports opportunities, particularly for women and girls.
Together, these three pillars form the foundation of the Center, enabling us to advance knowledge, drive innovation, and create positive social impact through sport.
